Wedding Photography – Raleigh

Well, just North of Raleigh, Louisburg actually.  That was the location of our wedding last weekend at the beautiful Hudson Manor. It was the wedding of Christina Whitley and Ryan Bray. The wedding was organized by Joy Edwards of “A Joyful Occasion” who planned everything with a military precision. It was such a beautiful day and Christina and Ryan set out to have a lot of fun. We started the wedding with some fun portraits of Christina who looked gorgeous in her Allure Designs wedding dress from Victorian Rose bridal store. We then brought in her supporting cast of bridesmaids, all eight of them and continued the shoot. Next we went on to photograph Ryan and his groomsmen and they were quite a lively bunch. After a beautiful ceremony we then continued with the photography of Christina and Ryan’s family, followed by the bridal party and then we finished with just Christina and Ryan alone. After the cocktail hour guests were invited into the ballroom and the floral decoration was outstanding. Mel Day from Dogwood Tree Floral Designs provided all the flowers for the day. I’ve worked with Mel on many occasions and as always his work on this wedding was outstanding. After a lovely meal, provided by Melisa and her staff it was time to really start celebrating. First we had the speeches and toasts followed by the cake cutting, The cake was a muti-layer chocolate and carrot cake designed and baked by Jennifer at Ambrosia Cake Creations Christina and Ryan had hired Six Stylez Band to provide the entertainment and they immediately had the place rocking with a blend of oldies and current chart hits. We stopped briefly for a bouquet toss and this was followed by a unique garter exploration and a lot of fun was had by all. As I start to edit this wedding, I’ve pulled out a few of my favorites from the day and I’ve also thrown in a copy of one the bridal portraits that I’d taken prior to the wedding.

Food Photograper Chapel Hill

Who said hospital food is boring and tasteless? Last week I was asked to shoot some food for the new menu’s that will be offered to patients and visitors at Chapel hill’s UNC Children’s Hospital. We had a great time working with Chef Shawn Dolan and his team.

The hospital has many different restaurants (i think Chef said 17) offering anything from Burger’s, Breakfast, Southern Food, Asian food, Sushi and much more.

Who would have thought that a hospital restaurant would have been serving up such delicious treats as General Tso’s Chicken and Fish en Papillote!

We are going back there again this week to continue the photography, this time shooting the menu which has been specifically designed for children.

Should be fun!NRB35014NRB34995NRB34977

Raligh NC wedding Photography – Renee & Aaron

Renee and Aaron’s wedding was on a beautiful, sunny February day.  Their wedding ceremony was held at Sacred Heart Cathedral.  After taking some portraits at the church, the Raleigh Trolley drove the bride and groom around downtown Raleigh with their families.  Before heading to their reception at Second Empire, we stopped at different locations throughout downtown Raleigh to capture some portraits.  Here is one of Neil’s favorite images at the Boylan Street Bridge with the view of the Raleigh skyline behind Renee and Aaron.  We had so much fun with Renee & Aaron’s family!  We could not have asked for better people to spend this beautiful day with.  Kristie especially enjoyed when the groom danced with his mom to a Pennsylvania Polka.

Raleigh Wedding Photography | Raleigh Country Club

We were so excited to photograph Chrissy and Jeff’s wedding this past weekend at The Raleigh Country Club.  This fun couple have been together for 10 years.  It was a beautiful October day that felt like summer.

We arrived at Raleigh Country Club to find Chrissy and her six bridesmaids watching college football and listening to music while they were getting ready.  Chrissy put on her gorgeous lace wedding dress from Alexia’s Bridal and we headed outside for pictures.   The bridal party looked fantastic in their red bridesmaid dresses from Savvi Formalwear.  Their  white floral bouquets from Fresh Affairs smelled just as amazing as they looked.  Chrissy added her grandmother’s brooch to her bouquet.

Barbara Lodge officiated their outdoor ceremony where the fairways were a beautiful backdrop for the guests.  After saying “I do” we took family portraits and bridal party pictures.  While guests enjoyed cocktail hour inside, we took Jeff & Chrissy away on golf carts to a very pretty location for their “together” pictures.

Their reception space looked amazing with the candles and flowers from Fresh Affairs.  DJ Mike Morse announced the bridal party and Chrissy & Jeff started off the night with their 1st dance.  As soon as dinner was finished guests were filling the dance floor.  The dance floor stayed packed and was so much fun all night long thanks to the exciting nightclub atmosphere that Mike Morse provided.  The guests thoroughly enjoyed the seasonal pumpkin wedding cake from Ashley Cakes.   Their friends & family left with Black & White cookie favors.

The bride and groom were sent off by their friends & family with a sparkler exit and we loved the 1966 Volkswagen Van that they left in!

Congratulations Chrissy & Jeff and may you have an exciting lifetime ahead of you.
