Raleigh Bridal Portrait Session | Linden

Linden was married this past weekend at The Carolina Inn so we can finally share her studio bridal portraits that we photographed last month.  We had so much fun with Leni and her mom during the session.  Here is what her mom had to say about the bridal session. “We have been enjoying having Leni’s bridal portrait over our mantle for the weekend.  It is simply awesome!!! I will always remember how wonderful that portrait sitting was….. a little bit of slow motion heaven for me… watching you bring out the best in my lovely daughter.  The wedding was such a blur…..makes me appreciate the time you took with Linden that afternoon.”

Raleigh Wedding at 1705 Prime | Traci & Brent

We haven’t done a blog post in awhile due to the busy summer we have had.  We are excited to start blogging about everything we have been doing the past couple of months.

Traci and Brent were married this summer at United Methodist Church at Millbrook.  Before the ceremony, Traci and her best friend got ready upstairs at the church while Shawn Schindler from Your Special Day Weddings & Special Events was making sure all of the wedding day plans were on schedule and perfect.  After their ceremony they released butterflies in front of the church.

It was a beautiful summer day for pictures around the church.  Traci’s wedding dress and veil from Victorian Rose were beautiful and fun to photograph.  Traci & Brent are very much in love and it reflects in their portraits.

We then walked across the street to their reception venue at 1705 Prime.  Their 60+ guests were enjoying cocktails and o’dourves in the bar/lounge area when we arrived.  Fresh Affairs did a great job transforming this space into Traci’s dream wedding vision.  Lots of romantic candles and elegant crystals hanging from their light fixtures.  Their wedding cake from Ambrosia Cake Creations matched Traci’s love of glitter, bling & glam.

The Chef & staff at 1705 Prime served a delicious entrée that included lamb chops & scallops.  Providing an excellent meal to their friends and family was very important to Traci & Brent.  There was also a banana foster station for guests to enjoy while Simpsound DJ had all the guests dancing.

It was our pleasure to be a part of your special day Traci & Brent.  We wish you all the best!

Commercial Photography | Raleigh, NC

When Orchestral conductor Nathan Leaf approached me about shooting his profile images for his marketing materials and website,  I was insistent that along with the usual head shots and life-style images that we do a shot of him “In action”. Nathan arrived at the studio with his concert clothes and he looked great in his tux. With Baton in hand we proceeded to shoot and it wasn’t long before he got into the swing of it. With a Beethoven piece in his head he began to conduct his virtual orchestra. I was really pleased with this image that we got from the shoot. It was a really fun shoot, as it always seems to be with musicians.

NC State Club Wedding | Raleigh Wedding Photography

Neil and Kristie photographed Shauna & Johnathan’s wedding at The State Club on NC State’s campus 2 weeks ago.  This newer venue has a lovely outdoor ceremony space and gorgeous reception space that includes tall windows, high ceiling chandeliers and fireplaces.

Shauna and Johnathan have been dating since they were sophomores at Western Harnett High.  10 years later he proposed under the replica of the Arc de Triomphe in New York City.  Almost a year after their engagement, they were married at the college Johnathan received his bachelor degree from, NC State.

Neil and Kristie arrived at Shauna’s bridal suite at The State Club in the afternoon and started photographing details and the girls getting ready.  Shauna’s sisters and friends looked great with their hair and makeup done at The Cottage Salon. Shauna looked stunning in her wedding dress from Bridal Mart.  While Johnathan and his groomsmen stayed in the groom’s suite, Neil took Shauna’s bridal portraits inside and outside.

At 5:30pm it was time for the “I do’s”.  It was a beautiful day for their outside ceremony.   Shauna’s sister officiated the nuptials.  Their flower girl, Shauna’s niece, passed out flowers to the guests as she walked down the aisle.   Johnathan and Shauna wrote a letter to each other and locked it in a wine bottle box to read in 5 years.

After the ceremony and family pictures, the bridal party had a lot of fun taking their portraits.  The navy bridesmaid dresses and green flowers were picture perfect with the green trees and blue sky.

The guests enjoyed dinner while watching a special picture slideshow.  The bride & groom’s first dance was to “Born to be Your Woman” – Joey & Rory.  Shauna danced with her father to “I Loved Her First” – Heartland.  Johnathan danced to “My Wish” – Rascal Flats with his mother.  Gorden McGregor from Anything Music DJs provided the music for the night.  The flowers, from Embellished Blooms, were very pretty on all of the tables.  Their beautiful 4 tier wedding cake was made by Simply Cakes.

It was an honor to be a part of this wedding day with your friends & family.  Best wishes to you Shauna & Johnathan!
